Málaga, 23-24 January 2025 – Advancing digital innovation in the AECO sector, the openDBL project has successfully concluded the first two years and set a clear roadmap for the third, focusing on full tool integration, scalability, and real-world implementation.
The 5th openDBL Plenary Meeting, hosted by our partner CEMOSA brought together project partners to present progress on BIM deployment in pilot sites, smart quality control advancements, sensor integration, and other key project developments. Key discussions addressed data standardization, interoperability, and regulatory compliance challenges, reinforcing the project's role in optimizing building lifecycle management.
By providing a digital logbook that streamlines data validation, analysis, and compliance, openDBL is transforming building management. Early results from pilot sites demonstrate cost savings, increased efficiency in maintenance workflows, and improved sustainability.
With the completion of two years of development, the meeting set priorities for the final phase. The following steps will focus on integrating all developed tools into the openDBL platform, enhancing scalability, conducting final testing, and improving user experience based on pilot feedback. On the second day, our colleagues from e-Metodi presented the latest version of the openDBL platform, demonstrating its core functionalities and real-world applications. The session provided valuable insights for refining the system before full-scale deployment.
With the continued support of our partners and pilot sites in Ruvo di Puglia (Italy), Mislata (Spain), and Kifissia (Greece), openDBL is advancing toward a fully integrated digital solution that streamlines workflows, enhances data accessibility, and delivers tangible value to the AECO sector. As the project enters its final year, the focus remains on ensuring a seamless and impactful transition from research to implementation.
We are proud to be part of this collaborative effort and excited about the positive impact openDBL will have on the building management industry.
