openDBL in Web Summit 2025 in Lisbon
This year, the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) participated in the Web Summit, one of the world’s largest and most influential technology conferences, held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 10–13 November 2025, alongside other EU entities to highlight how EU funding fosters innovation across multiple domains, including AI, high-performance computing, and digital infrastructure.

Highlights from openDBL Public Event at SAIE 2025
On October 25, the openDBL project held its Public Event at SAIE 2025 in Bari, Italy, organised by project partner CETMA.
The event gathered experts, partners, and visitors to explore how openDBL is driving digital transformation in the AECO industry through collaboration, innovation, and open data exchange.

Highlights from the openDBL Week in Kifissia
The openDBL project recently marked its final phase with a series of innovative events held from November 4 to 6, 2025, in Kifissia, Greece. These three days were hosted by our project partner, the Municipality of Kifissia.
This gathering brought together partners from across Europe to reflect on three years of collaboration, digital transformation, and progress within the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO) sector.

openDBL 6th Plenary Meeting in Riga Sets the Course for Final Integration and Impact
Riga, 1–2 July 2025 – openDBL project is entering its final six months, with a focus on integration, validation, and real-world deployment.
The 6th openDBL Plenary Meeting, hosted by the project partner EDI (Institute of Electronics and Computer Science) in Riga, Latvia, brought together consortium members for two days of targeted discussions and strategic alignment.

Highlights from the 3rd openDBL Summer School
The 3rd openDBL Summer School, held on May 20, 2025, was a dynamic hybrid event that brought together professionals, researchers, and students from across Europe. Hosted from Tallinn, Estonia, the day featured expert-led presentations, insightful case studies, and engaging discussions. As part of the openDBL project, the Summer School served as a key knowledge-sharing forum, showcasing the role of Digital Building Logbooks (DBLs) in shaping safer, smarter, and more sustainable buildings.

openDBL Conference 2025: Advancing Digital Innovations for Safer and Smarter Buildings in Europe
On May 8–9, 2025, the openDBL project held its international conference “Digital Innovations in the Building Sector for a Safer Europe” at the headquarters of project partner dormakaba in Ennepetal, Germany. The event gathered stakeholders from across Europe to explore how digital technologies, data standardization, and cross-border collaboration can transform the future of building management.

openDBL 1st Hackathon: Innovating Smart Quality Control with AR
The first openDBL Hackathon took place on January 22, 2025, at CEMOSA headquarters in Málaga, Spain, bringing together participants to develop AR solutions for Smart Quality Control. Organized by CEMOSA, CETMA, and Digiotouch R&D, the event focused on using Microsoft HoloLens to enhance quality control processes within the openDBL project.

Digiotouch Showcases openDBL Project at Latitude59
Digiotouch, one of our project partners leading the dissemination and communication efforts for the openDBL project, attended Latitude59, Tallinn's premier startup and technology event, held from May 22nd to 24th, 2024. The event provided an excellent platform for Digiotouch to present and disseminate the Horizon Europe openDBL project.

Experimentation of the “openDBL-Palazzo Parlante” project on the Bovio school
The "openDBL" platform will go live in preview on Friday, April 19th, in Ruvo di Puglia at a building that celebrates its centenary this year: the Giovanni Bovio primary school. The school, which was handed over to the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia in 1924, rang its bell for the first time on October 1st of that year.
